This might seem a bit silly but I was wondering what areas were safe in terms of driving a Vespa or something.

I used to live in Santa Barbara and there was a Vespa club or something where people with Vespa's would congregate (they used to call themselves Vesaprados).

I am sure SD has its share of locales where people are comfortable riding a Vespa. This is a part of my research and my quest to relocate to SD in 2008.

cheers and happy holidays.

I've seen Vespas all over... even in Carmel Valley, with a yoga mat strapped onto the back and all.

Now thats funny, a yoga mat and a vespa. One of those priceless moments I figure.

I guess I will have to move there first and then find out on my own. Since I don't have a job lined up yet, it is too premature but it is always nice to know.

Gelato Vero Cafe on India St. seems to be vespa central for San Diego. Lots of motorbikes there. Secret Society Club is one of bigger vespa clubs, I believe. This link might be helpful along that includes some pics http://scooter.meetup.com/217/calendar/5610333/
