Trying to keep the Seals in and the Sea Lions out. Hilarious.

"The animals are also making their larger presence known by excreting big bubble clouds of brown waste and streams of urine into the water and onto the rocks, and keeping residents awake with loud barking."

With all the wealth and SIO in the area, I'm surprised to hear they can't figue out a way to drive off or redirect the seagulls, seals and sea lions in the La Jolla area, due to the pollution issues they cause. I guess it is due to the town council and environmentalists that can't come up with an agreement or relocation plan.

It gets rather stinky and unsightly down there.

The irony. Seals cute and cuddly = good. Sealions and seabirds stinky = bad.

If they drive off the Sealions they really don't have a leg to stand on about the Seals in the CHILDREN'S pool now do they.

Never understood why La Jolla was all that, anyway.

easy beach to learn surfing. Anyhow, doesn't Scripps have an educated opinion on what to do, rather than hazarding a sloppy layman solution

I generally agree with this, but not when it comes to the Children's Pool. It wouldn't even be attractive to the marine life if Ellen Scripps hadn't had the wall installed to create the sheltered beach for the children.

Yep, and I'd bet 1000 bucks if it was Sealions squatting there, there wouldn't be all those kooks selling t-shirts and blaring bull horns up top either.
