Hi all,

I will be moving to Imperial Beach on the 1st of July with my wife and two young kids (3 and 1). My Father in Law will also be helping us move in.

As a Brit this will be my first Independence Day in the States (we have celebrated many times in England with other expats though ).
I'm semi-aware that San Diego does fireworks every year (which my kids love), but do you have any inside tips on great locations for us to go see them - Coronado perhaps?

Besides the fireworks, what else do locals do on July 4 in San Diego?

Thanks in advance!

My favorite spot is at the harbor downtown near the train station. I'd rather not fight my way over the Coronado Bridge on a holiday.

I don't know the answer to your second question. I typically just go to the fireworks show.

Big Bay Boom is a big draw but parking and logistics can be a pain.

Usually people start drinking early in the day and are $% housed by the time the fireworks start. Just be prepared for that if you go to the beach on the 4th.

This is where we go every year. We get there 3 hour before and just hang out!

Unless it's that gnarly marine layer we had a couple of years that spoiled everything.

That's great! With the kids it will be far easier to just walk down, enjoy it and walk home.
Thanks.
