Yes, I can imagine how beautiful it was. That's good to hear about the good school district out there. I saw several younger kids in the development as I was driving around.

Do you know the story with that junk yard looking residence at the top of the mountain? It literally looks like a junk yard. Just a hoarder?

I get your point. I think it's a personal decision. Personally, I wouldn't/couldn't do it. But I'm sure there are some that don't want to leave San Diego and love the area, have family and friends here, and their job is here. They want a bigger house with a bigger lot yet can't afford to have this same thing closer to San Diego so they come out here.

I looked on Zillow and some of these people (including my friend) picked up these properties for a steal back a few years ago.
