Barber shops and hair salons were allowed to open this week. So I got my first haircut in months on Thursday. I went to the barber shop on Clairemont Drive. The barbers all wore face masks and customers were required to wear face masks. All waiting chairs were spaced 6 feet apart. Sure was nice to get my thin mop trimmed.

The title should read 'Anyone get a haircut?' But titles are not editable.

A female friend said she called her hairdresser who’s now open and her first available appointment is the end of June.

Yes I made about 15 calls Wednesday and made an appointment for Thursday. I was becoming unrecognizable to family.
I found a little barbershop in La Mesa. They had a ton of walk ups that were turned away.
I just got an email this morning that my go to place is opening this weekend.

As a suggestion, maybe some of you can get someone in your home (spouse, SO, etc) to check out a YouTube video and learn to cut your hair.

My wife has been cutting mine for decades and does a great job. She did take some classes before we met and was already cutting her brother’s hair.

Taking the opposite route and growing my hair. I had it down to my waist for 10 years in my 20's. This time going for shoulder length .

From what I read one barber infected 91 people at a shop last week . I don't understand how that risk diminished just because barbers now have the green light to open ?

How do you cut the back with a mask around your head ?

They lifted the strap on my mask. My face was still covered. They disinfected the chairs each time someone left.

Definitely not as bad as the hordes of people waiting in lines just feet apart at Costco or Home Depot

I thought masks were required for customers too but one of the morning news shows was doing a story on barber shops reopening by visiting one in North Park. While the barbers were wearing masks the customers were not. Even one of the barbers had a mask with his nose not covered.

The barber shop I was in all barbers wore face masks. Customers could not enter the shop if they were not wearing a face mask. This is a very low-key barber shop but they were taking this virus stuff very seriously.
