(Just checked, it's 11.) They must be including Camp Pend in those #'s.

We'd see more hunters, than deer!
I doubled up on two years and punted on two but average has been 15 deer 15 years San Diego County D16. Pretty sure I am ruining the curve. I ain't picky and hunt early bow, rifle and back to bow. If I count other States I probably average 2 deer a year. Toss in a pig now and then. Also hunt Turkey and other upland critters. Hardly have time to fish anymore

Utah or Colorado Elk with bow is still my favorite.

Right but some people buy/rent there while still having a place in CA, at least temporarily.

It was like that in Florida too. I couldn't believe how quickly you could get things done.

That's no lie.

Stand in a 2 hour line "just to get into the DMV building" here, vs~

Walk into a trailer in Idaho, the clerk at the desk is bored, waiting for someone to help.

They give you a short 10 question test, then take your pic (with a Polaroid "Land" camera.)

The clerk then cuts out your pic, and places it on your new license. They run it thru a laminator, and your new license is DONE.

No "back & forth" with the State Capitol, no 6 or 7 different languages to decipher. None of that extraneous crap, that S L O W S the whole process down.

Outta there in 10 mins, with your new license.

It's at this point, that you discover you've been conditioned (like a dog) to jump when the State Gov't commands you to jump.

Back on the OP's subject~ Your thread title is inaccurate.

It should read, "Prices are higher in Feb, than they were in Jan!"

LOL

I remember once being in downtown Pittsburgh a few years ago and I wandered into a DMV (I think to use the bathroom) and it had three windows open and two customers total in the building I think. It was literally, “crickets”. I was like, “What?!!!” I thought I was being punked, I couldn’t even fathom such a scenario in California/San Diego.

The last time I was at the DMV here I had an appointment and it was three hours to do nothing of consequence with hundreds of angry people, including the employees, all milling about cussing under their breath.

I was living in Central AL prior to moving here to San Diego in 2014. I went into DMV only one window open and only one other person other than me there, in and out in minutes. Similar as when living in KS, few people in line and done. I never understood the DMV headache jokes until I moved here.

It has little to do with what party is in charge though. DMV had legendary lines when Reagan, Deukmejian, Wilson, and the Governator were in Sacramento.

True, it's a California thing but still based on bloated Government. Example, a buddy of mine moved to Texas and on the way out moving he broke down. It was his catalytic converter died. He had it towed to the nearest town. He asked, "How much is this gonna cost me?". Guy said, "Probably 30 bucks". What? Ya, we are cutting off that CA contraption and putting in some straight pipe.

Whether right or wrong, it's a CA thing. He then sent me a pic of 139 a gallon gas and it was over 4 bucks here.
