For some reason that is the approach that bothers my ears the most. I think it has to do with the fact the plane has to make a sharp decsent from over the mountains to sea level in a short distance.

Anyhow, that skyline has changed a lot especially in the last 5 years. The Grand Hyatt has a twin, and they have built many new high-rise condos, as well as Petco Park and the surrounding areas. A good place to go to enjoy the views is the top of the Hyatt, where you can get a good overlooking view of the Marina, Coronado Bridge, Petco Park, rest of downtown, and out towards Mission Bay.

Believe me, there is little to no limit on how tall the buildings can get based on the location of the airport. The planes dont go over downtown at all. They go over bankers hill which is just outside of downtown.
I kinda like the location of the airport. Centrally located and not far from anything. Plus, when you're driving into downtown from the I-5 they fly right over you a few hundred feet.

Why do you bother to post a reply if you're just going to act like a smartas$?
Its as if you believe that City-Data revolves around whatever you have to say.

Back to the topic.

San Diego skyline is very beautiful but lacks density. On the other hand, its a thriving downtown to say the least. The Gas Lamp is always filled with pedestrians and it trully is where San Diego happens.

This thread gives us a chance to see San Diego's skyline. We've seen the other one ad nauseum. I can also feel the weather just looking at those pictures!

remarkable shots of downtown SD. it's expanding so quickly that there are 4 new highrises i don't see in even the most updated pic from the OP. two of them are next to the santa fe towers, one is next to the symphony tower, and a couple are next to petco park. each raises about or above 400 ft.
