#1 - looks like a condo, desirable area, walking distance to a shopping plaza, less than 2 miles from a big university - expect large numbers of students in the neighborhood. Very good schools. Cool summers, warm winters, frequent marine layer aka "june gloom" during spring and summer.

#2 - also a condo, not nearly as desirable (but okay). More pronounced climate. Uncomfortably close to the freeway.

#3 - suburbia. Decent area, multicultural with strong Filipino presence, impossible to get anywhere without a car.

I wouldn't live in Spring Valley. I'm not very familiar with Lakeside, but I think that it's fairly typical of East County: a small piece of Oklahoma dropped into California, and all that entails.

Default Lakeside

I live in Lakeside, and no it is not like Oklahoma. It is more rural and the people are more layed back than in the rest of San Diego county. You have the more slow paced environment with the accessibility of San Diego within reach, yet lower home prices and less traffic. People are very friendly and are not back woods as people tend to say!
