A Giant Burger Cheeseburger is really good, with fried onions, mayo and cheese. Yeah the places look dirty and all that but those burgers are damn good. Barney's is ok, but they make really great shakes. The chocolate Strawberry is my favorite. In and out is always good for a quick drive through. The counter burger is good as well. They have one in Walnut Creek now I hear.

Something that is important to me is a toasted bun, if they just through a good burger on top of a cold and doughy bun, then it's just gross and nowhere near as good. I hope all of these places have toasted buns because I'm going to try some of them.

I know the Bistro Burger I went to in SF had grass-fed beef, but I'm not sure the location in Oakland City Center uses the same meat.

One of my favorite burgers is at Rico's Diner in downtown Oakland. I might head to TRU Burger on Grand Ave. in Oakland today, as I've heard good things about it.

In the West Portal district, try Bull's Head. It's a divey kind of place, a little run down, and the burgers aren't cheap, but they're good. They have buffalo burgers, too.
