"chickens***" would be getting yourself killed or injured trying to rescue someone who didn't want to be rescued while consciously disobeying standing procedures and engaging in a rescue you aren't trained adn qualified in , leaving your family destitute because the FD and the insurance company refused to cover you.

Good Samaritan laws cover the general public. A trained responder is held to a much higher standard, and if any goes wrong you'd better hope that all your certifications and training classes are 100% up to date.

If one of them had jumped in, tried to save the guy and become injured, you can bet the City would screw him to the wall. He would be injured and unemployed for years while his union filed suit after suit to get his bills paid

Interesting. All the whining is done by the spineless cowards, who don't ever put their lives on the line for anything, except for more then a paper cut in their cubicles. Status quo.

Guess that includes the "spineless coward" that actually went in to try and save a dying guy while the "heroes" stood by and watched?

"So Daddy, why didn't you try to save that man?"

"I did it for you, son."

"Gee thanks. I can't tell you how much I get to hear about your effort from the kids at school. Can we move?"

Alameda fire chief is on record for saying that he would also not have attempted a rescue even if it was a child drowning. Gee what a great guy.

I live in Alameda and this is beyond belief. These soft ass police officers only know how to issue speeding tickets.

But the city decided that is NOT the job they are PAID to do. If they did that they would be in violation of policy and subject to disciplinary action
