How the announced their protest is especially hilarious.

Quote:
(TOPEKA, Kan.) -- The Westboro Baptist Church took to an iPhone when they heard about Steve Jobs’ death Wednesday night, sending out a message saying the Apple founder would be going to hell and calling for a protest of his funeral...

Thursday morning, Phelps responded to widespread criticism of her using the iPhone to Tweet the messages, saying that the phone was created by God -- not Jobs -- for that purpose.

Well, if the religiofascist wing of the Tea Party is still looking for the ultimate in presidential candidate fare to suit their unique tastes, there she is.

But you really get the idea they're reaching for some cheap pub on this one, since they've been a bit quiet lately. Odd that Margie, of all people, says Jobs is the one who serves himself instead of God. The homeschooling in Kansas ain't what it used to be...or maybe it is.

You need help if you think westboro bapitist represtents Kansans, other Baptists, or even the tea party.

That's like saying the hippies who hang out in trees and attack people who do research on animals at UCSC are a "wing" of the liberal movement.

These people aren't wing anything. They are just a fringe group of loony tunes.

I mean you really only need the slightest inkling of objectivity to see this. It's not that hard dude.

Very true. And I also agree that this latest protest reeks of being a total publicity stunt.

Their whole existence is a publicity stunt. If people stopped paying them any mind. They would not exist. Just like the reality tv celebs.

That's what the Westboro Baptist Church wants, to draw attention to themselves. Most of their church members are the Phelps family and--surprise, surprise--almost all of them are lawyers so they can sue anyone who crosses their path. They are a hate group masquerading as a church!

It's true that liberals have their own share of "extremists" of one sort or another. But one thing they don't have in common with any Kansans, Baptists or even the Tea Party, is this sort of disturbing fascist and hate-filled religious nuttery. Which is probably what we should be more concerned about anyway.

Like it or not, we'll take our nutters, you guys own yours. I'll gladly take the hippies.

Y'all can also have the Dark Age theocracy that Kansas has become as well. And the people who think that voice in their head is some sort of real deity. And Hank Williams II.
