Well he may but let's not forget 1982 to 1994 when they were in LA =)

Well, not quite:

HKS, Inc. envisions an all-weather stadium with a retractable roof that seats 70,000 fans and shows off gorgeous views of the city skyline.

The firm has ties to an investment company that could pony up the $600 million cost of a new stadium without putting the city on the hook for the money, according to Antonini. Supporters of the notion say plenty of cash could be made in the off-season by using the facility for major concerts, conventions and the Final Four college basketball tournament.

I must say that at this stage, he is being super optimistic.

Well it would make the players easier to see when the power goes out again

Oh yeah the OP should include the Warriors too as they're eyeing a move to SF next to Pac Bell.

Multi-tasking is not Jean Quan's strong suit; she herself admitted she is powerless to keep the Port of Oakland running if there is another protest down there.
Oakland simply does not have the politicians who will keep their sports teams in town, and just like any free-agent signed by the A's, Oakland will have to either extremely overpay to keep any of their teams in town, and even then it will be a slim chance an organization wants to be associated with the city. As much as we love the city, Oakland does not have the cache of SF or SV which sports teams owners look for in a destination.

No one is interested in keeping those teams here at taxpayer expense.

She's not powerless, she's woefully incompetent.

Al Davis lived in Piedmont, screwed Oakland by moving the Raiders to LA and then screwed Oakland like a cheap hooker again when he came back. Yep, he loved Oakland . . .

Its not really a fair comparison when comparing it to Philadelphia. Even if Oakland losses both the Raiders and the A's it still has other options in the Bay Area sports market. You guys have the 49ers and the Giants so don't act like there wouldn't be any other NFL or MLB franchises if the Oakland teams decided to relocate. If Philly lost the Phillies or Eagles we would not have any NFL or MLB the entire Market Area. IMO you guys are lucky to even have two Pro sports franchises in the same league and in the same market. Philly is a larger market than the Bay Area and we don't even have two Pro sports franchises in the same league. Some of you Bay Area sports fans could be a little more humble with the amount of Pro Sports options you all have.
