Hi, I'm going to work in Brisbane and I have little knowledge of that area. I'm a single young professional and would like to live in an area which is more active and meet other professionals. Ideally I would like to take some public transit like BART? But couldn't find anything to reach Brisbane where I work at. So I'm thinking maybe I can take the BART for the first part of the trip and then drive 3-5 miles to workplace?

Does anyone familiar with this place can give me some suggestions? That'll be really great. Safety is also one key factor since I'm a female. My budget is <$1400 if possible.
THANKS!!!

With that price range, I would suggest South San Francisco, San Bruno, Pacifica, or Daly City. You could drive to work from those cities without too much problem.

Thanks so much for your reply. Are any of those ares which have easy access to public transit and can get to the city quickly?

Are you willing to rent from a shared apartment?

San Bruno and Daly City both have BART stations, so you can get into the city quickly.

Where in Brisbane are you working? There are a couple local shuttles that run from the BART and Cal train stations. Anyways Brisbane is barely 15 minutes from SF, you don't have to worry about accessibility. If you live in the city, you're not going to want a car, it'll just be a lot ain parking and insurance and dealing with dings and dents.

Are you working for a major biotech firm? You may want to ask if there are any shuttles available to the major transport terminals such as CalTrain or BART.

<1400 is only possible in the peninsula if you are splitting a 2-bedroom with a roommate. There is a Archstone in San Bruno that will be an easy commute to Brisbane and is walking distance to San Bruno BART station.
