In fact, last time to SF, did a wine tour that had a picnic lunch at V Sattui (my favorite winery), had a tri-tip sandwich (they don't have tri-tip back east), some wine, and some prawns. The tour leaves you at the Ferry Building, I had the nerve to eat at Gott's Roadside for dinner, lol. What a fattening day.
You know, speaking of fast food, tri-tip and burgers, Buckhorn makes a pretty tasty burger. You can get a tri-tip burger too. I like the Caesar Pleaser best, though--a nice fresh Caesar salad with thick slices of tri-tip on top. Of course, Gott's Roadside in the Ferry building is right across The Embarcadero from there, making it quite a tough choice.

I used to love Clown Alley/Pickles on Jackson Street in SF. Loved their fries too. Not a fast food place per se, but was damned good.
