You said the city of Oakland was 'gritty', as if Oakland is one entire neighborhood instead of dozens. I don't feel like digging through all of your previous posts, but you certainly aren't out to promote the city. Which is fine, but don't expect Oakland citizens to just accept whatever dumb generalizations you have to say about the city at face value.

I don't think there's a harder ghetto west of the Mississippi. Like there'd be some kid you grew up with who got a job at Lanesplitter, and then all of a sudden he has a job at some lame tech firm in Brisbane. You thought you knew people but it turns out they're just the same no matter where you go. They don't remember their homies, the people they grew up with, know what I'm saying? And forget about trying to get a table at Zachary's on a Friday night. The waiters would be all "College Ave 4 lyfe" out on the block, but you'd ask for a simple deep-dish pizza and they'd act like they'd never heard of you.
Okay, I give. This was pretty darn funny.

I did not say the entire city is gritty and or ghetto. I was merely replying to Jade about different perspective of gritty. She went on to reveal that she lives on Piedmont ave. I replied to her that it is not gritty there. You yourself went on to list other areas/districts that aren't gritty. I agree with you as well. I replied "Indeed". So how am I saying the entire city of Oakland is ghetto when I, myself recognize that there are plenty of nice areas in Oakland? Where are my dumb generalizations?

You don't have to dig. You won't find much. I have not called your entire city of Oakland ghetto. And lastly why must I promote your city? And just because I'm not promoting Oakland does it mean I'm automatically bashing it? Really?
