It's a 3-yr-old thread. But yeah, you'd think that someone smart enough to be in tech could figure out that just a BART-ride away, they could have lower rents, a cleaner city, warmer weather, and a better party scene. Oh well. OP is probably long gone. ...from the forum, at least.

Just, curious. What town are you referring to?

The thread is stale. But the OP's facts are fresh (unfortunately).

People kinda are making the OP's point: 1)Someone complains about features of the bay area, 2)Right on cue some (or even many) BayArean(s) respond(s) accusing the OP of trolling. In a real world class city, the vast majority of people recognize the problems even if they can't do anything about them, and in fact gain camaraderie in discussing those problems. Only small towns take offense if someone dares suggest the town isn't some little slice of heaven. LOL

Chicago must be the biggest small town in the world then.

Don't know what she was talking about but Berkeley, Albany, El Cerrito all fit the bill (or at least significant portions of them do). If taking BART to the "party scene", that is. It opens up a large swath of possibilities.

I lived in Chicago a coupla years, and I agree, it is the biggest small town in the world. It has "Second City Syndrome."

Default London is not particularly cold, it's hardly Moscow

A bit rainy but that's it. Doesn't compare with NYC.

I've lived in all three places, SF, London and currently in NYC.

While the weather in SF isn't as bad as the other two, it's nothing to write home about either. Cold, foggy summers and temperate Winters. I like to feel proper weather - proper heat and proper cold. In SF it never gets really warm and a big disadvantage in my eyes was not being able to enjoy the evenings. It cools down so much in the evenings you can't sit out in it without a coat. I like to be able to enjoy proper balmy summer evening where you can sit out in your shirt sleeves. Could never do that in SF.

I consider the perfectly cool summer temperatures to be the absolute number one best advantage of San Francisco!
