I'm planning a long weekend vacation Thurs-Sunday. Unfortunately, all weather sites say basically 100% of heavy rain Thurs & Fri and possibility of rain Sat & Sunday.

Place your bets, how accurate are weather forecasts in SF?

Weather forecasts for the Bay Area are typically spot on. I normally get my weather information from the KTVU channel 2 morning news and it's pretty much always accurate.

The entire Bay Area is expecting off and on rain for the next few days. It should start tonight.

I've found that Google's weather forecasts are very accurate and updated frequently, especially the precipitation (rain) probabilities.

They are pretty accurate especially considering we are on a West Coast. West Coasts are difficult to forecast because minor changes in the jet stream can move the weather by many miles. That said, if the forecast says a front is on the way, you can generally expect the front to go through. The only variable is strength.
