Last time I got robbed at gun point by a huge dude with a gun, I'm pretty sure he didn't have an LTC. Criminals don't care about permits or legality of their weapons in general.

Funny you should say that because you're the one who tries makes himself feel better when proven wrong. Doubt people in Oakland want their city abandoned as you suggested.

The population of Oakland has changed dramatically in the past 20 years, though. I've always thought that the last people to be "gentrified" out of an area are probably the meanest/toughest/most aggressive and will make it hardest on the newcomers...

Oakland has definitely changed..... Although the worst offenders are gone, it still has too much of an undesirable group of people who I dont want to be around (white American liberal hipsters). And no, im not a republican or a white American (I am ethnic Mexican).

I do like the viet coffee shops in Oakland; vastly superior to the hipster coffee shops.

I feel ya on that!

All these kids born-and-raised in Walnut Creek, Pleasanton, Danville, Benecia, Vacaville, Livermore, etc., are just rediscovering the same city that their forebearers fled two generations ago. People forget that Oakland had large Portugese, Irish and Italian communities at one point. When the Caldecott Tunnel was built, they all filtered over into the Diablo Valley and points east.

Their liberalism is a product of their age and lack of experience. I consider myself a liberal too, but the liberalism I adhere to is one of compromise, practicality and pragmatism, not this "woke" YouTube/Instagram/Twitter crap that gets enraged over gendered bathrooms and criminals actually paying the price for their crimes

Actually, we DO. You unmask yourself *all the time*. And it would be so karmic for you to be the victim of these criminals.

No, you don’t have a clue. If you did, you might actually engage in some semblance of analytical dissection of them. And even then you’d fail ... because, my positions on issues are just that: individual positions on individual issues ... never ideological. I subscribe to no ideologies.

‘Ideologies are poor excuses for lazy intellects.’

Crime is up in most cities. The bulk of which has wacky liberals making the same mistakes of their parents generation in the 1970's. The nut bag, kumbaya, hug a thug, revolving door prison bull **** that did not work then and is clearly not working now.

Except this time coppers are standing back and saying fine, have it your way. Enjoy these upstanding members of the community, who just need a hug and universal basic income. In the good old days before cellphone and body cameras, cops could at least tune up a suspect and dish out some street justice. There used to be a day when these little punks feared the police.
