I normally wouldnt mind but he's making $925,000 a year, cant he pay for his own place to live?

UC will be paying $11,000 a month for that house-meanwhile theyre always talking about raising tuition.

I mean, why not get a loft in Jack London Square and walk or catch the bus to the UC HQ just up the street?

This UC Alum is not happy about this.

New UC president to get 6,800-sq ft home (http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/n/a/2008/05/15/state/n194854D84.DTL - broken link)

pretty much the same situation here in San Diego with the UCSD chancellor. Apparently that home set high on a cliff overlooking the Pacific needed repairs so they put her up in some high priced downtown La Jolla home, at UC's expense of course. The UC system is a joke with how much money they waste, I seriously have no desire to donate to them even though I had a great college experience at UCSD. I'm glad I graduated when I did, tuition was already 50% higher when I graduated compared to when I started and now I think it's over a 100% higher! Even if our tuition is in line with other state college systems, our cost of living is not.

What?! Wow! Good to know. As a UC student, I was always scrapping money to buy even gas for my car and to think those people in charge are living the life...
