This is a great forum, I did not even know one like this exist
Well as the title states, I have visited SF this past weekend with my friend who will possibly being moving there and still have questions. She'll be working near the wholesale foods area (I think this is consider S. San Francisco). So we looked in Bayview since we saw pics online and it looked decent, I have to say I was wrong. It was not a very nice neighborhood at all.
I did do a little research on this board and thought Burlingame was perfect, but then I saw the thread about houses being in the 1.2MM range and that is too much.
Her work will be around the Bayview area, but definitely want to stay away from that area.
Here is what she wants to look for.
A family oriented area with low crime rates. Willing to go about 10 -15 miles away from the wholesale food market. She is looking for a house (condo is ok if it is in a great community) with a rental rate of about $1500/month. 2 bedrooms.

Your friend will have a hard time finding a good area with 2 bedrooms for 1500.

Hmm I'd say from 1900-2200 for a two bedroom in a good area.

Hmmm that sounds fair and still attainable. Which cities would be ones you can recommend?
I did some search on Brisbane (only 7 miles from Wholesale food market!) but it seems a little isolated. Also read it was near SFO? If so, it'll be too noisy.

Check out Millbrae or San Bruno - the farther away from the airport, the better. Nice middle class towns. You can get a 2 bedroom apt between $1600 to $1900. A house rental will cost more.

definitely want to stay as far away from the airport as possible. I'm going to look into that area.

You can find some cheap places in San Bruno, but that area is heavily fogged in most of the time. Millbrae would be better imo.

There is so much I need to learn
. Is it because San Bruno is in the foothills of some mountain? I did a little bit of reading, but I may be way off.
I'm ok with fog in the morning but not all day! (i'm from socal

BTW are there certain areas of Millbrae that I should stay away from? Just doing a quick rental search, I see a bit of difference. Some areas are 1900/ month and some are 1400/month.
