I'm thinking about buying one of these, but I'm not sure if it'd be a good investment. I'd appreciate it if anyone could share their insights with me.

That link didn't work for me.

Are you planning on living there or using it as a rental? If you're going to live there, I think it's unwise to think of it as an investment. It may be better than renting, but the house you live in is never really an investment.

I'm planning on living there, but I'm also thinking of it as an investment in terms of being able to sell it when I want to move.

Why do you think it would not be a good investment?

With today's market, it will be priced accordingly, meaning high. This is out of your control. The most important factor is how long you plan on holding onto the house. If you plan to sell within 5 years, then there is possibility of dip in real estate market. With the today's high prices, it is likely you will not make money or even lose money in 5 years. On the other hand, if you hold it for 10-20-30 years, chances are high that it will be good investment.

From what I can see online in 5 minutes, without detailed investigation ...

Pros:
- Close to many companies/jobs in north San Jose, Santa Clara, Milpitas.
- New development. Some buyers want new (but new becomes old in 5-10 years).

Cons:
- Close to rail road track. Not sure if that rail road is active.
- Close to industrial area.
- Close to mobile home park.
- HOA. I suspect there will be high HOA fee.

My personal opinion. Location is everything in real estate. For the same money I rather buy an older home in better location than pay a premium for brand new home. This development's general location is good because it is close to north San Jose, but immediately location doesn't look great.

By the way, I think there was a post several months ago on this development asking about rail road.
