Hey I'm just curious, what is the huge draw to Portland, Seattle and, San Fransisco it seems like basically everyone wants to move to one of these places?

I do not think people in the Bay Area are particularly rude or miserable compared to other large American cities. I noticed that when I feel that way, such feelings reflect more on my internal state than any objective reality. It may be helpful to take some time to look within for the roots of one's discontent before jumping into something like moving to another city.

Has the OP considered Denver? Big change but lots of people seem to like it. Portland is not just colder, it's also cloudier. Will you like living in the place where you don't see the sun for months at a time?

OP is miserable, yet blames others for being miserable. Too much?

Who's to blame for Portland's soaring home prices? - Feb. 5, 2016

For friendly people, lower housing prices and almost no bikers look in the Atlanta metro area. If you do not mind the cold weather, Minneapolis is a great affordable city with a strong job market and polite people.

Look at what $220,000 buys in suburban Atlanta.

Lawrenceville, GA For Sale
That's one fugly McMansion, why such a small lot?

Plus the average sunny days in CO are over 300 per year. I wasn't a fan of the cold weather/snow for over 8 of the 12 months I lived there, though. I had to return to the Bay.
