Hello everyone!

I will be driving from Salinas, California to either the Warm Springs BART, or the Fremont BART in order to go to UC Berkeley sometime next week (Mon-Fri).

Which station would you all recommend in terms of being safer? Both safety for myself as I am a petite female, and safety in regards to my car not getting broken into (I never leave anything in plain sight).

Thank you!!

Unfortunately, car break-ins can happen at any BART parking lot. As long as you're not leaving anything visible you should hopefully avoid making your car a target.

Both Fremont stations are in what I'd consider to be safe areas. I honestly wouldn't worry about your safety at either station.

Probably other factors to consider may be

1) ability to get a parking space at the station (I know that the Fremont station fills up pretty quickly; what about Warm Springs)

2) frequency of train service - Fremont is likely to have more trains than Warm Springs (but you'd have to check the schedule)

Both stations are in relatively safe areas. Coming up from Salinas though, the drive to Fremont station will be another 15-20 minutes, since it's further north. Something to consider.

The Warm Springs station is much easier to get to from the freeway and has a better parking situation. It is the end of the line, so you will be the first one on and last one off.

These are good points. I haven't personally used the Warm Springs station yet but I've driven by it many times. The lot appears to be much bigger than the Fremont location. The Fremont lot fills up very quickly.

The Warm Springs station is easily accessible from both I-880 and I-680. The Fremont location is accessible from I-880 but requires a longer drive through Fremont to get to the station.
