Not saying this isn't true but what exactly are these "poor government services" and which state provides better services for less money?

This is news to me. The place is ethnically diversity for sure, but racial tensions?!

We'll clear out all the non-white, "yucky" people just for you, if you would please grace our heretofore tragically diverse city with your divine presence, dear. If only everyone everywhere could all just be exactly the same. That how it is up in whine country, these days?

San Jose wins over Cleveland in my book.

Ironic tid bit - there used to be (maybe still is?) a thing called the "San Jose - Cleveland Ballet."

The idea was to combine two struggling companies.

Not sure whatever became of the arrangement. Interesting nonetheless.

Your biggest issues will probably be rent, food, etc. Rent will be higher than what you are used to for sure, and food might be.

Taxes can be higher or lower depending on the individual situation, I am a middle income person and have never felt that I paid a whole lot in taxes here. In the past, the state has given renters a tax credit to offset the high rents. Car tags, driver's licenses, etc., have actually been less than they were in my home state [Oklahoma], and I think even the income taxes are a bit lower in CA, at least in recent years. No sales tax on most groceries here, either. It all depends on your individual situation and what you're used to paying where you're coming from.

Traditionally, the area is usually one of the first to start turning around after a recession, so it might not be a bad place to be if you like it otherwise.

Kick out all the non-whites, and Silicon Valley will be paradise all over again.

It was actually white elites (and non white versions of the same) from the NE US who essentially changed the place into a non hospitable place for the middle class of all colors and creeds.

Whites, blacks, Latinos, assimilated Asians, of modest means and at most a bachelors have been pushed out in droves and replaced by Ivy Leaguers and foreign equivalents thereof.
