I love tabby. I had it around my pool in South Carolina.

Most landscape supply companies want $45-50 per yd, but that's for the nice stuff. One cubic yard is about what would fit in a standard pickup truck. What I got has a lot of aggregate mixed in, but it's fine for what I did. I couldn't afford to do my entire back yard in the "good stuff"
GREAT job, HH! It really looks fabulous!!

If you're in a condo, you definitely have to get approval before doing this.
And yes, the fire ants can still mound up on the shells, but it's rare (at least in my case). Put a GOOD groundcover fabric down first to prevent weeds (and deter ants). I mean the good stuff they sell at the landscape supply, NOT the crap at the home improvement store. The landscape supplies sell it by the foot and it's cheaper anyway. And most places that sell the washed shell will sell it to you in bags for a bit of a premium price. Good luck!!

Thanks, but I wouldn't call it talent :-) Just the desire to not mow grass. It was a lot of hard work doing it ourselves (renting a front end loader for a day helped a bunch), but I would do it again in a heartbeat! Someday we'll get to the front yard
