New interstate exchange still on for Palmer Ranch? (Sarasota, Venice: homes, buying)

The battle has been going on for some time regarding a new I-75 on/off ramp that would be located at Central Sarasota Parkway by Palmer Ranch. Now it appears that plans to cancel that Palmer Ranch exchange have hit a snag - the other potential location at SR681 has environmentally sensitive lands that may be impacted.

One paragraph of the article in particular caught my attention:
"The location of the new interchange could eventually open up a new route to the county landfill, taking pressure off of Clark Road. But this also would mean more trash trucks on a planned extension of Honore Avenue west of I-75."

Instead of building this, the county caved to wealthy homeowners (shock) and decided that traffic lights on 681 were the way to go. What bozoes. If there was any road which does not need cross traffic, it's 681.

Remember, the Sarasota County commission is composed of people who think that the economic golden ticket is the Scamborn film studio plus more subdivisions (which are all fake and eat away our water resources).

The new people moving to the Honore Ave -Central Sarasota Pkwy area that are whinning about a possible I-75 interchange should have looked at the Palmer Ranch master plan before buying. The interchange has been known since the inception of Palmer Ranch.
This is like the people who bought homes next to the airport and then whined about the noise for years until the airport caved and stopped flights after 11.00PM
btw- the speed limit on 681 has already been reduced and there are roads constructed on both sides of the highway just west of I-75 for sub-divisions.

It's absolutely ridiculous. 681 was a nice, quick access road to and from Nokomis/Venice and they decide to ruin it so we can have more empty subdivisions. And the last thing we need is MORE subdivisions.
