We have a handful of projects (none seriously major) to shop around. They mostly involve very small scale demolition and refinishing wall/ceiling surfaces to flat/paint ready. One job is a kitchen island soffit removal and has some electrical work in there, and re-plumbing a new range hood as well.
Short of looking on Craigslist or web searches, anyone know of someone who is good, reliable and reasonable? Yea, I know - pick one but you can't have all 3.
As we get closer to closing our transaction we may add more small things to the scope of the work - but we're not doing any additions or serious construction type of stuff so it may be too small for many companies, but of course they must be licensed.

Do people use Angie's List in Sarasota? It is sort of like yelp for people who provide services. We have not joined cause it costs $, but I know other people who have found good trades people using it.

Yes, Angie's List is in the Sarasota area. They try to get businesses to buy into the program all the time. People can still post about businesses they have used even if the business doesn't pay for the service. When you pay for the service, Angie's List will try to resolve any issues and get bad comments off of business's profiles, so I am not sure how accurate some of them are.
