The winter season of events and festivals is kicking in, so there are lots of things to see and do this weekend:
Friday, 11/01
Music on Main, Lakewood Ranch's Main St, 6 - 9 pm. Live music, food/ beer/ wine vendors, kits activities.
Live from Downtown It's Friday Night, 6 - 9 pm in downtown Sarasota, also live music & food vendors.
Siesta Key Sandfest, Siesta Key beach pavillion area, Gilligand's Island Theme, food, live music, cash bar. Starts at 6 pm. $30 per person.
Drum Circle at Manatee Public Beach on Anna Maria Island, starts 5:30 pm, live music.
Fri, Sat & Sun
Anna Maria Island Pirate Invasion -- pirates are taking over the island! Live music, arts & crafts, pub crawl, kids activities, actors in period dress. Coquina Beach Pavillion. Friday 12 - 5 pm, Saturday 10 am - 8 pm, Sunday 10 am - 5 pm.

Ferrari's at St. Armands Circle, over 75 of this exotic cars on display, 10 am - 3 pm.
Sarasota Bay Water Festival -- Ken Thompson Park by Mote Marine, 10 am - 5 pm, free. Lots of acitivities, including kayak trips, paddle boarding, Scuba displays, Ski-A-Rees water ski show, live bands, food, 60 exhibitors.
New Balance 5K Fun Run -- 1872 Stickney Point Rd, Sarasota. 7 - 8:30 am, register to run on line at
www.newbalancesarasota.com . Open to all ages - runners and walkers.
Team Hope Walk -- 9 am, GT Bray Park in Bradenton, to raise money for Huntington's Disease Society of America.
Almost forgot this one: Flight to the North Pole Car & Bike Show, 600 301 Blvd W in Bradenton, 10 am - 2 pm, benefits terminally ill children, tickets $15 at door.
Saturday & Sunday
Taste of Manatee, downtown Bradenton/ River Walk -- live music, lots of food vendors, arts & crafts. Saturday 11 am - 10 pm, Sunday 11 am - 7 pm.
Venice Art Fest, historic downtown Venice -- 10 am - 5 pm, 150+ artists displaying their work.
Sarasota Women's Expo -- Sarasota Municipal Auditorium, 10 am - 5 pm each day, $7 admission. Latest in fashion, fitness, food, travel, family, home & health, wine tasting, etc. Free hair & cosmetic makeovers.
Sunday
Southside Village SECA Car Show -- antique, classic & exotic/sports cars, Hillview street in Sarasota, 10 am - 4 pm, food vendors, free admission.
