Can anyone tell me what the commute is like from Bradenton (lakewood ranch area) to downtown tampa. I'm not sure what the traffic is like during rush hour and if there is any public transportation. I'm considering moving to this area and am wondering if the commute is too far.

Thanks for any info!!

I know a lot of people that commute to Tampa from that area. Im not exactly sure where in Tampa they work though. I think it's about a 45 minute ride. LWR area is close to 75 which is a good advantage. The drive from Sarasota would be BRUTAL. I'd say from what I know, its a very feasable commute..

45 minutes on a good day, with no construction or accidents, depending on where in Tampa you want to go. The job better pay well enough to afford the gas and be worth the commute. If you are used to driving in NY or D.C. the traffic won't seem bad to you.....

I knew some ppl who all worked in the same office in Tampa and lived in Sarasota area who hooked up with Share a ride and they had the van supplied to them to drive/ride and they just bought the gas.

I think this would be the ideal situation! Otherwise, even though it's 45 min, you're talking 150 miles a day on your vehicleBrutal!

With 4 or 5 ppl the cost would be minimal. I could be wrong but I think it also included ins on the van.

From LWR, it would be OK, but would get old. 45 minutes at best. I did it from a couple exits south of LWR on 75 but it was not fun. I commuted to Fowler Ave. for 4 years. About the same distance. From Bradenton or Sarasota, it would be much longer. LWR is OK as it is just off the interstate. No public transportation.
