Anyone near the water want to give an update on real Red Tide status, not computer models?

Is Nathan Benderson Park just a big retention pond for the UTC mall with a sidewalk around it? That's what it looks like from I-75. Are there any trees? I cant see any from the highway. They have some activities that sound like they might be fun, but it doesnt look very inviting from 75. Am I missing something?

I went to a Barbeque event at the Venice airport back parking lot, and fried in the Sun due to lack of trees, and there were clouds of dust from the cars coming and going on the dirt roads and parking areas. We won't be going back there again.

I'm still new to the area, and I love Sunshine posting all of these events, but some of the venues leave a lot to be desired.

Anything in Downtown SRQ we've liked. Same with St. Armands Circle events. Maybe I need to start a topic thread asking for venue ranking likes/dislikes.

I look at Mote's Beach conditions report every morning for all of our areas beaches, and all continue to improve. Still some funky water color in places, but no respiratory issues or dead fish.
