Hi Everyone,

Obviously a number of local bars and taverns will be holding Halloween events for the adults, the following events are more family friendly offerings:

Siesta Key Safe Treats --Bring your little ones to trick or treat. Look for participating members displaying festive balloons. In addition to Siesta Key Village, the event has expanded to include merchants on South Siesta Key. Free Siesta Breeze trolley, which makes a continuous loop between the Village and Turtle Beach, will be running with multiple stops along the way. 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.

Children's Costume & Halloween Parade --Venice Centennial Park. Meet at the Gazebo at 4 p.m. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Parade starts at 4:30 p.m. led by Old Betsy the Firetruck followed by trick or treating at Venice Avenue shops.

Village of the Arts Trick-or-Treat Stroll -- Child-friendly decorations and friendly Villagers passing out treats. 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. Village of the Arts, 1113 12th St. W., Bradenton.

Fright Night on St Armand's Circle -- runs 6 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Kids can trick-or-treat around the Circle at haunted store fronts, enjoy the frightening characters & statues dressed in the Halloween spirit. A performance of "Thriller" will take place in collaboration with the Sarasota H.S. Drama Dept. about 8 p.m.

Enjoy!

I went to the Venice trick-or-treat event, and it was fantastic. Some great costumes. Thanks to all the retailers who participated and handed out candy. The kids and families had a blast, and I loved watching all the smiles. It was like a huge Norman Rockwell painting.

This makes us want to continue to support our local downtown Venice retailers even more than we already have. Our downtown area is a major reason why we chose Venice, and we are doing all we can to help them all prosper.

I heard the street paving is to take place Nov 8-10th, weather permitting, and the roads will re-open. I hope that's accurate. Our retailers have endured a great deal with the Red Tide, and downtown renovation. I'm so excited to see it get back to normal again, and even better than it was before.

The downtown area and the French pastry shop were also major factors in our decision to build in the Venice area. I am also glad to hear it will be returning to normal soon!
