Hi Everyone,

I have both good news and bad news this weekend.

The bad news? According to my sources, the following events that were to take place this weekend have been canceled due to COVID-19:
Siesta Beach Seafood & Music Festival
Sarasota Holiday Parade
North Port Poinsettia Parade
Venice Boat Parade (heard that on the local news tonight)

The good news? We still have lots of events scheduled for this weekend for those who wish to get out and enjoy the season.

Please keep in mind that as of writing this post, all of the following events are expected to take place as planned. However, since we are still dealing with the Covid virus, please keep in mind that event schedules are subject to change with little notice.

I also heard on the news that the Venice Boat Parade may go on without the city. No porta-potties or special parking areas or police directing traffic. But they said they can't stop someone from getting on their boat and tootling by with lights on.

Let me know if that happens! I'll be thinking about it.

Thanks for the pointer on Ellenton Sunshine! Now I know where the outlets are.

All the important stuff you learn on CD.

The Venice Holidays Boat parade was awesome! I missed it last year, but wont miss it again. Lots of wonderfully decorated boats. It got good at 7 pm at the Circus Bridge area.
