Cortez, probably the best

Walt's occasionally ...maybe

Detwiler's hit and miss

I choose to ORDER my selected species from PublixSupermarkets directly near me, they gladly will do so and most new transplants don't know that they will GLADLY order what is available and they will call you I seldom have a disappointment with the fish I ORDER. I rarely buy fish already in the case without asking when it arrived!

Other Supermarkets/grocers? I wouldn't touch it based on my own experience for years as a local, but some consumers don't know fresh fish or a bunch of species.

Walts. They move so much product through there that it is always fresh.

I would agree with that about The Original Walt's decades ago on North Washington in DT SRQ when the father ran the business, but the son has it now down on S Trail.

No more. Walt's used to have his own fishing fleet

Just one mans opinion but we went there in evening for dinner. Was some of the worst service we’ve had. There were only two other tables in whole place and it took 15 min to acknowledge us then another 45 min to get our food. Basically there an hour before we actually got to eat after we sat down. And the food was just ok.

This area needs a high quality, large seafood market. Any entrepreneurs out there?

One issue I see to start up is the Red Tide taking away so much of the supply from time to time.

The market would need to sell non-local seafood too in case Red Tide returns.
