Drive down to Cassariano's in downtown Venice. Good food, cocktails and service. Try their Carbanora dish very good.

No need to drive down to Venice, they now have a restaurant at UTC Mall area on the Sarasota-Bradenton line.

Downtown I like Mattison's, Duvals, and Owens Fish Camp.

On St. Armands, Tommy Bahama, Shore, Columbia, and Cafe Europa.

My wife and I love Napule, not DT though. I could survive on their bread service.

They moved. Roccos Tacos is going in the UTC location. Cassariano moved to San Marco plaza in LWR on the East side of the interstate. They are getting much better reviews there in the smaller cozier location

Wow, that was fast! Seems like they just opened at UTC. Thx for the correction.

UTC rents are so high, we are going to see an ever-revolving door or restaurant tenants in those out buildings nearest the main road.

Elements is good but expensive.
Mélange is very good but has a limited menu.
iMHO there are no excellent seafood restaurants in downtown except Owens which doesn't take reservations.

hope you get more suggestions because I am always open to trying new places.
We ate at Dry Dock before Christmas and thought the seafood was very good
But I agree that many restaurants are not good seafood destinations

Cassariano is getting very bogus high ratings now since they moved...they JUST located in UTC, next to "Nasty Bucket", and spent a crapload to buildout....now they moved to a smaller location, they were getting KILLED and not making much money..

I'll give them less than a year over on Nature's Way...if they were doing that great they would have NOT moved in less than a couple of years....Benderson doesn't do that...they were not there even 5 years lol
