I'm not seeing that up here in Sarasota County. I have not been to Manatee County post Ian.

For a while, we had many light out, timing was off, & some were on generators, but that was all corrected w/in ~3 weeks. Its been back to normal for a long time now. They have them perfectly timed so you can't make 2 Green lights in a row.

Not like that here, even on 41, but it's moot since 41 is always a parking lot from Dec to April.

Like by my house the road to it at night there is literally no traffic. They had the timing of the light different for slow periods so if you were going straight you didn't have long to wait. Now when I come home 930 at night I have to wait forever for the light to go green.

We had WAY worse wind damage in Charlotte County. Every light was trashed. Like on 41 some stop lights only have one light hanging down. Lots of bent lights too. El Jobean 776 when you turn right onto 41 is a do not turn on red. The sign blew away and now everyone turns on red.

Snow birds, on average, appear to me to be much older than year round residents in S. Sarasota County, so their driving is worse.

Thx for the vote of confidence Bear. I only use 1 identity, so I only post 1/10th as much as those who use 10+ identities.

I post <9/day, & many are short like this one.

It's really weird I'm seeing lots of out of state tags but stuff is not as packed as normally this time of year. It's fairly busy but not a good season compared to some better years if you measure better according to sales.

There's a lot of people with condemned houses from the hurricane so people with winter homes here some of them not staying this winter other people moving out. The hurricane definitely slowed the break neck population growth but real estate is strong because tons of houses were destroyed or need repairs.

Im still seeing a lot of out of state contractors and workers around here in charlotte county. Traffic is worse because if this, especially due to all the large trucks that drive slow and dont know where they're going!

Here's what I can tell you. I manage an autobody facility in Bradenton and consult at one in Sarasota. We are EXTREMELY busy as an industry b/c of the great resignation, supply chain issues and the influx of people moving here since COVID started.

Our normal "work in process" this time of year would be approx $300k at any given time. For the past 3 years we have hovered just over $1million ALL the time. We have repairs that take 8 months and rarely doesnt anything get done quickly nowadays.

Parts are horrendous, insurance carriers customer service and time to settle claims is ridiculous and employees (in general) are abused by customers b/c maximum rental on your policy is 30 days.

The only thing worse right now than getting into an auto accident would be buying a home

Everyone keeps saying the "great resignation" so where are these people working at then?
