I saw the other post where Sunshine referenced a few of the local teams. I am finally a full time resident since June and want to see spring training baseball.

Best way to get tickets?

Any advice on which teams/parks you enjoy the most?

Do you get any more access to the players than at a normal MLB game?

Any other tips or advice on sprint training baseball?

I love baseball in general and have never seen a spring training game in my life.

Spring training is starting up in our area -- Orioles in Sarasota, Pirates in Bradenton & Braves in Venice (Wellen Park).

All 3 are having greet the fans events this weekend, check my regular events post for details.

The teams all have spring training schedules posted, along with ticket prices, on the local stadium sites & I think also on the team sites.

During spring training all of the teams hold special game days with events for the fans, some include meet & greet the players. So if you're a baseball fan, you can overdose on fun for the next few weeks.

PS: If you have a great voice, the Pittsburgh Pirates always auditions fans to sing the national anthem before each game.

The 3 three venues Sunshine mentioned are all great venues for spring training. If you like either the Phillies or Blue Jays or just want to try a different site, their parks in Clearwater and Dunedin are other options. Yes, it is a little further drive, but both ballparks are really nice.

I like the Pirates stadium the most, & when we go there, we always stop by at the Motorwerks Brewery across the street, & up a ways. There was also a brewery right across the street, but we liked Motorwerks more...great courtyard w/ massive oaks, & games to play.

The Pirates stadium is more intimate, & has an old tyme baseball ambiance to it. I think its more affordable than the Braves games. We bought a 4 game bundle a few years back to the Pirates games, & the prices were great for how close we were to the field.

The Braves is new and modern with a huge jumbotron screen. I have tickets for 2 games in hand, & might walk-up to 1 or 2 more just before the regular season begins to see all the starters on the field together.
