So glad you had such a nice time. I love Anna Marie Island, & rented a home on the beach there 10 yrs ago that was built in the early 50s.

It's all about the good times, & the memories.

I went out for dinner tonight (Sunday) which is rare, but it was nirvana. No traffic, no crowds, & I could actually talk to the bar tender.

If I was a top 1%'er, I'd spend April to November in this area, then travel the rest of the time flying privately through out the Western hemisphere.

If I was a 1%r I’d be in Bimini or Thailand. Some exotic place, not west Fl. It was a very nice weekend, but I do miss SFL. No reason to go home anymore. So you make happy - where you are !

Wouldn't you rather just buy an yacht instead and go anywhere in the world? if you're a top top 1 percenter you could.

I wonder how much time Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos spends on theirs? I know many of them rent them a lot of the year.

Yes, I'd have a yacht too, but they move too slow to see the world for my liking. I'd keep my yacht close to home, & use my private jet to travel afar.

Did you know a lot of our snowbirds travel here by boat each season? Its true, just go to the marina's & look at the back of the boats to see their place of origin, & speak to some marina hands. They keep cars at each home, & come by boat rather than plane, then they have their boat here to use....nice lifestyle.

Here in PG a lot of them actually live on their boat and don't have an actual residence because it's cheaper to live on the boat than getting a house.

Interesting. I do agree about the article when one said the business slowed a bit sooner than it usually does. I noticed that too this year around here.

Fewer people are passing through Southwest Florida International Airport. In March, there was a 23% drop in passenger traffic compared to March 2022.

And with tourism being down, that means businesses could feel some added pressure.

There are businesses on Fifth Avenue that are feeling the impact. WINK News spoke to a few who said that last year they had plenty more reservations and longer wait times. Longer waits means more work which means more business which means more money.

I-75 today however was a disaster area in both direction to/from Tampa from our area. Northbound I get...some are still clearing out, but Southbound was busy too...weird.

I am just learning to hate 75. Northbound, southbound, it doesn't matter the road is just always busy.

Any minor incident causes terrible delays. We need to station Hero trucks and wreckers every other exit during peak times to move accidents off the roadway.

Its taking waaayyy too long to move wrecks away.

I'm ready for the remaining 25% of snowbirds to leave. I'm still seeing too many out of state plates.

I'm seeing lots of car carriers loading snowbirds cars up for the tip North, so that helps.

In the warmer months car fires are a huge issue. Seems everyday the right lane is closed due to a car overheating and catching fire. Even though they're pulled off to the shoulder at least one lane is closed due to the fire truck. If it's a large semi or dumptruck it can be a couple hours the lane is closed because they have to get a large tow truck to lift it up.

Nowhere else in the country I've seen as many car fires daily like I do here in FL.

It's cheaper to tow your car and less wear. When I moved back to FL in 2015 shipped my Mustang down for $600.

I have been on cruises, the ship gets too restrictive after awhile. Nah, fly me there and Jeep around. I want to see caves and tall mountains by the beach, etc. stay in the tree houses in the jungles. Different, that’s what I want.
