I'm 95% sure she means 1350 Tamiami Trail South, Osprey, FL .

there is a Beall's outlet in Osprey--we saw it when we were down end of July

there used to be store that sold discounted home furnishings, rugs and other smaller pieces of furniture but it is gone--
anyone have a good source for discounted room rugs--nicer quality than WalMart--

Great bargains for fresh food can be found at the Sarasota Farmer's Market on Saturdays if I remember, right everyone? Also a great market off Fruitville Rd, just about a mile to the east of I-75. I spent $20 to get a week of groceries on my last trip down.

Last March we went to a church tag sale and it was amazing.
By the way I think I saw that mermaid at the shop in the window I loved it. A 4ft one would be a little hard to get home on the plane. LOL
But I just love a bargin.
I would really look in the paper for estate auctions! I think that Ladywithmyfan ;-) mentioned that. Some of the sales are incredible, and since people are very tight right now you can get some really valuable furniture / furnishing / art work / and accessories at great prices.

$20.00 for a week of groceries! You must be one skinny dude! That wouldn't cover my beer for a good football game at home. (If I bought it at a discount warehouse).

I do a lot of shopping at the farmer's markets, and I always by tons of stuff there! I can't wait to get home with the fresh tomatos and soups, and fish, and meats, and cheeses! They should have a farmers market stand for beer and wine!

That's funny Big House, I'm thin alright but we eat healthy.
Yeah - it was a great deal. We got like 3 bags of stuff. Eggs, peppers, an onion, lots of fruit and some other veggies... we basically packed picnics everywhere we went on our trip to save from going out to eat. All I really got from Publix was milk, bread and meat and then we found a 24 case of water for about 3 bucks, bought two of them to rehydrate us, kept them in the trunk for all our day trips.

We bought at a restaraunt I think for only 3 meals a whole 10 days, only to get out once in a while, and besides the splurges, eating the way I described only cost us about $100. That was like 10 bucks a day for us. Deals can be found when you try hard enough to not buy all the junk.

Now gasoline on the other hand... that's where I overspend on my trips.
