weather question (summer, water, east coast)

watching the weather around venice. usualy 5 degrees differents between inland. how far is inland? to get the cooler weather?

During the summer, the further inland you go, the hotter the temperature. There is the east coast Atlantic breeze blowing west inland and the west coast Gulf breeze blowing east inland. There's usually a 5-10 degree difference in the center of the state along U.S. 27. Since heat rises, this causes the coast breezes to clash with the hot air causing the violent 20 minute thunder storms. [They use to be almost every day during Jul-Aug]. You will see the eastern sky turn black. Which ever breeze is stronger determines if the east coast or we get the storm.
In the winter, the coast is usually warmer than inland because of the warmer gulf water.
