This is funny! A bunch of my friends and I used to have pizza parties all the time, and we would make our own from scratch, and hang, listen to music, drink beer, etc..... After reading that Gypsychic made her won, my brother asked me to come over for dinner. He made home made pizza from scratch, and we got to put our own toppings on it! It was great! I forgot how much I loved it!

Today was just one of those days where we didn't feel like going anywhere or doing any dishes, so...Valentino's! Pizza, Valentino Pizzeria Trattoria, Sarasota, Florida, Italian Restaurant

I am telling you, for $50, we got a very good mixed salad for two (gorgonzola and roasted red peppers included), an order of amazing baked ziti, an order of chicken Santora (chicken, eggplant, prosciutto and mozzarella in an awesome brandy sauce), a side of angel hair pasta with great meat sauce, two of the best loaves of crusty Italian bread I can recall, and a 2-liter soda.

We were starving and couldn't finish half of it.

So basically, enough food for probably five people.

Turns out, by the way, the folks who own and operate Valentino's started in...North Jersey.

Now it all makes sense.

Are there any NON New York Style pizza places in the area? Coming from Cincinnati, we really miss the pizza options we had up there.... That, and Skyline!

I'm from SW Ohio. Try Demetrio's It's not Cincy style, but it's not NY either. As for Skyline, there is one Pinellas County. It's only an hour drive.

Thanks for the recommendation, davery. I'm not tied to Cincy style pizza (ala LaRosa's). My wife doesn't really care for NY style. We just had a lot more to choose from up there, it seems. Jet's was one of our favorites, and there isn't one of those close either.

We went up to the Clearwater Skyline not too long ago. Tasted as good as the ones up north! When we were on vacation last year, we tried the one in Naples. The taste was a little off.
