In a few months we may be moving to the Gulf Gate Estates area of Sarasota, and was wondering if anyone had any idea what the demand for a Massage Therapist is in the area. Anybody need a massage? Let me know!!!

Default massage therapy welcome

I would imagine with the population ageing a massage therapist would be busy in this area. If you could combine that experience with physical therapy or personal training I'd imagine you'd be more busy than you'd care to be.

Bear in mind this area is LOADED with massage therapists - you will have a lot of competition. There are even places that hire those sign guys advertising massages for $29.00. I wish you luck.

Massage therapist=6 months education. Physical Therapist=6+ yrs education in FL. There is no comparison, I'm sorry.

Very true...kind of like nail techs. My girlfriend goes back to Miami for her clients...not saying you can't do it here, just that the saturation factor has already happened.

I'm a massage student and about to graduate soon in the Sarasota area. Let me tell you this Stoke, I am looking to move away. I dont like the idea of extreme competition with tons of people ntm Sarasota as a city is not my bag. I prefer Tampa or St Pete.

Short answer-- demand is low and supply is high. Not a good career choice for Sarasota. Sorry.
