Did anybody else think it sucked? OK maybe it didn't "suck" but it sure didn't match the hype. It was only 15 minutes long for starters. I happened to be on the river Wednesday night when they did the 45-minute demonstration show that featured tons of brand new designs that were being shot off for the first time and it was without a doubt the best firworks show I have ever seen. Just when you thought it was done more and bigger bombs kept going off. Tonight's was just "eh." Maybe they hyped it too much?

Yeah, it was pretty average.

Why were there fireworks? Where were there fireworks?

Downtown on the river Wednesday and Friday night. They were for the American Pyreotechnics Association convention -- a meeting of people who put on fireworks.

I see. Sounds like the sort of thing that should be well advertised so more people would know about it.

It was on the news and in the paper.

At first, I was disappointed I missed it, but now that everyone is saying it was "average" I don't feel as bad. I've seen Jacksonville & DC's Independence Day show so those would be hard to beat. Especially in Savannah.

I don't watch local news, and I only read as much of the paper as I can see through the front of the machine and then only if its interesting looking. Why not slap a thousand posters up around town like every band and protest around here seems to do?

One word: trash. That's one more piece of paper littering the ground we don't need.
Maybe you should keep up with the news a bit more? It doesn't take a lot of effort.

The news is mostly all I watch. I just don't care much for local news in general and less for local news in Savannah.

Seems I heard about it on the radio. Maybe our local NPR station, WSVH 91.1.
