Yeah those Georgia Power rates are brutal. It's like they jack them up in the summer or something... (which they do I think... or they did) My 2 biggest recollections about the brutal summers were when my A/C went out for an extended period. Both were in August... a year apart... 2007-2008.

I lived on Wilmington Island and the first time was when someone had crashed into a power pole and power was out for 16+ hours. I didn't fall asleep that night. I'm one of those people that can't sleep when it's hot... fans don't do much good when it's so muggy either.

I kept my A/C set around 72-73 and the 2nd time I had went to work and sometime that morning the A/C unit (in the attic) auto shut down due to debris clogging the drain. I came home and it was 94 in the house and a lot worse in the attic. That was another late night getting to bed because after the A/C was back on it took quite a while to cool down the house.

Out here I get a good laugh every time I see a weather report that says "heat wave it's going to be 80 tomorrow."

Today and yesterday were actually rather nice. Highs in the 80s with dews in the low 60s. It will come to abrupt end starting tomorrow. Those near 100 F temps will be back later this week.
