Glad to hear that, 700 jobs paying that much or more would be a huge boost to our economy. Those are almost akin to auto industry jobs, they will add several more jobs besides their jobs in our area. The overall gain of jobs may be 5 or 6 to 1 at elba. A average auto plant will add 10 jobs supporting one worker at a plant, whether they are a new sales job at the ford dealership down the road or a waitress at the local cafe.

A total of 3,000 to 4,000 new jobs may be the total impact the Elba island project.

During construction, it's bound to have a negative impact. After it's built, impacts should be less.

I agree. Part of the plan however does include a ample area of parking to accomodate all vehicles involved in the construction project. Should help.

Is this gonna be something so big that we can see it from up river or Islands Expressway? Like we can see the storage tanks now?

Yes.Ten areas each the side of a football field. Same size footprint of the 85 acres but put on re-enforced land with pilings driven in. Site plan and drawings were shown. Probably available on -line but I have not searched for them.

After construction, I would imagine not much at all. Probably 70% of all jobs will be in the operations department and more than likely be 12 hour shift work jobs from 7 to 7 or something similar.

If you can find it please share. I searched and has no luck. The current footprint is surprisingly small, only 4 tanks. Kinda pretty from the air.

I've been using lots of "gonna's" and "kinda's" in this thread. I need to stop being so lazy and do better.

Imagine this will grow over time to meet demand. If all goes well, we could see them add capacity until they run our of space and then they may try to build up.

the other benefit to us is we may get a bigger natural gas pipe coming into the area to meet demand which other potential companies need to upgrade their infrastructure or to come into the area.
