We ended up with about 4.5" and had some pretty heavy snowfall for a few minutes. It was great, reminded me of whenI was growing up in the Northeast.

My favorite local newscast here in the West Palm Beach market (WPTV/Channel 5) seemed to have "adopted" Savannah for footage of the snowfall. Every newscast yesterday featured at least one clip or live feed of the snow in Savannah, mostly a feed from Tanger Outlets. It was oddly satisfying seeing them talk about my old stomping ground.

I think it was super pretty too. It’s prettier knowing that it will be gone in a day or two.

Within the HD there is still a TON on the ground, and many streets (and most sidewalks) are still VERY icy. I came back into town today and was genuinely surprised.

ONE MORE THING: I’ve always thought that Savannah’s tight urban street grid and architecture gave it a feeling of much larger industrial cities in the northeast (minus the palm trees and Spanish moss of course). I have to say that with a blanket of snow — even a half melted snow — it feels even moreso. Driving around Savannah tonight, with frigid temps and a coating of ice, one might think he were in fact in Baltimore, Philly, Brooklyn or Boston.

Wow, great photos News!! Wow. Eh, I missed it! Just coming back now from the north. Ah, the quiet of the snow though... Nothing like it. Nothing beats a northern forest in the winter. Silent. I here from folks here it was "quiet" for the snow days outside here too. Hope all the kids loved it!

I apologize. We brought two hurricanes-one while house hunting, one after moving here. Now it seems the snow missed us and followed us from Upstate NY.

Hey CampongMom I hope everything is going good for you down in GA. I commented on one of your previous posts about trying to sell your house and really hope everything is going good for y'all.
