A way forward: tougher prosecution on violent thugs less on lesser offenses, more money on after school activities for kids and less on building political shiny projects.
Mayor DeLoach makes a great point the city intern program for local youth is a very good investment and opportunity for our local students:

They really take on a hazardous and challenging job and thanks for all they do.
This city still has crime far higher per capita though than most of its size - it should not be sugar coated or accepted. I think this year it has also been more under-reported probably for tourism and political reasons. We can do better. I know it. I hope we can make more progress this year and still more next. But with the way it's ingrained in this town... well it's going to be a an uphill battle.
