We’re visiting and planning to go shopping over the weekend. I noticed that there are two tanger outlet malls not too far away from each other. One in Hilton Head and one in Pooler. Which one is bigger with more stores?

There are two in Hilton Head, a mile or so from each other, and one in Pooler. Why don’t you google both of them and see which stores you prefer? The Pooler one is very nice, newer, and right off I95, so I’d go there.

The ones in Hilton Head are about 45 minutes away from the Pooler one. It would be hard to do all 3 in a day, but not impossible.

The Savannah Tanger was built in 2015 and is one complex. It caters to those driving along 95 and the Savannah metro.

Hilton Head Tanger 1 was built in the 1980s, and subsequently Hilton Head Tanger 2 was built in the late 90s. Tanger Hilton Head is broken up into two different complexes, with Tanger 2 physically about two miles away down US-278. Both complexes are 30 minutes down 278 with traffic from I-95. It caters to tourists visiting the Hilton Head beaches.

All that to say, it's two different demographics, but the stores are the same. Hilton Head probably has a few higher end stores like a Saks Fifth Avenue outlet.

Just like the "Savannah" outlets are really in Pooler, the "Hilton Head" outlets are in Bluffton so you don't need to actually drive on to the island. Kind of a pain though to park the car at one place and have to move down the street to go to the other stores.
