Did not see this resource listed anywhere on this forum, so I thought I'd post it for us Savannah residents along with anyone considering moving here.

SAGIS, which stands for "Savannah Area Geographical Information System" can be found at http://sagis.org . Sagis is a very valuable non-profit website where you can get info on who owns what property, what was paid for it, property cards, a lot description, property lot outlined against satellite picture, tax appraised value, zoning, district, etc.

Note that if you search by street address, leave off the street type. For instance, instead of searching for 101 Bay St., you'd search for 101 Bay. 101 Bay is the Chamber of Commerce BTW.

Yay for the further erosion of privacy rights!

The irony of this subject & the OP's name (Phantom) is rather delicious.

All matter of public record anyway.
It's nice to be able to check the facts all in one place.
And find out who is shooting ya through grease.
And who ain't.

The irony did not escape me either.

You got something to hide...
You gotta do a better job, is all.

SAGIS is a great tool. Most mid to large sized municipalities have something similar. And Al is right. This info has always been public, but access to it has improved due to improved technology.

Been thinking about this.
Whether you say pri-vacy, or pirv-acy...
That boat has left the dock.
That ship has long sailed.
That train has left the station.
Give me ten minutes...
Lend me ten $.
And I can find out more about you then even your mother knows about you.
Since 9-11 privacy is just a seven letter word.
And ya just gotta get usta it.

Just sayin', is all.

Here is another website that provides the same information. It was provided to me by someone on this board last year, and I use it all the time.

Chatham County

SAGIS didn't work. Typed in multiple names, hell even addresses! Nothing.

Works every time for me.
Addresses or names.
And the lies some people tell.

There's a funny trick to SAGIS, but I forget what it is. The guy who designed it had to talk me through whatever issue I was having with it at the time.

If I remember...leave off east and west on addresses, for the most part, and there's a weird space you include if you're using pin #'s. In general less info is more.
