Don't want to sound like a "Nitpicker", but didn't you mean "Prospective" instead of "Perspective".

Sorry, it's a curse...

To be honest, I've been wondering which to go to, too. While Atlantic Station is an expensive area, I find it beautiful. I'm from metro Atlanta and go to the area where SCAD is located often. There are stores like Ikea around if you like that. I've only visited Savannah once and very much liked the experience, but I don't think it's a great place to live. I find the modern part of town there more amusing. I'd recommend you'd live in Atlanta. I'm only confused because I don't want to be too close to home. I'd definitely go to the Atlanta campus if I weren't from Atlanta.

I would vote Atlanta if you are LGBT and Savannah if you are not. The LGBT community in Savannah is as powerful as a small city can be, but that's a pretty low-hanging ceiling. 1660 Peachtree is where a lot of SCAD students live (its in walking distance) and it is fairly inexpensive for the area (price/sqft). If you want to live in Midtown, try to get in the Morningside Elementary/Inman Middle/Grady High school district - those are probably the ideal schools for Midtown residents.

You just cant compare the gay community of one of the gayest cities in the country to that of a liberal-leaning small city. SCAD Atlanta probably does not offer the same number of programs or the departments may not be as fully staffed as Savannah's campus, but the opportunity to live in Midtown and be able to walk to most things you need is pretty cool. Savannah is a very charming city, has a very alluring feel to it - however I would choose Midtown Atlanta every day of the week.
