Honestly I have no idea where they are...I just know that they have them for sale, so I assume it is for parade-watching.

The bleacher seats are $25.

From there you can walk to any point of the parade route. My advice is to wander around. The parade's not really all that interesting (for more than a few minutes at a time) but the people are fascinating.
Good advise, as usual. We'll try for there.

It is the people watching we're looking forward to, and just seeing the goings-on.

If you can get there early enough (before 10am) make sure you walk through the staging area along Lincoln St. from Park Ave to about Huntington St. I've always enjoyed checking out the participants at close range. Sometimes you can meet someone famous or a local politician. Kinda fun.

Oh-- and make sure you wander around in the park, there's usually some cool helicopters and stuff that they'll let you get in. At least one time they did, so I always expect it to be so....umm St. Patrick's Days run together after awhile. LOL

Thanks very much for your suggestion. That is what we did, and it worked out great. We were charged $10 for parking and the ferry was free. We took the ferry to the Marriot, walked up the hill, and viewed the parade from a little park on Bay Street (In front of the Old Harbor Inn). Hassle free and not too crowded. We arrived 1/2 hour after the parade started, and were just in time for the beginning of the parade as it reached that point.
Then we walked to River St and had lunch at Tubby's while we people watched. It was a good day.

I'm glad it worked out. I was recently wondering how convenient and inexpensive that option would be. Now I know. Thanks for the update.

Things were just as easy near the beginning of the route, as well.

Normally there is no charge to park on Hutchinson Island. That is where we always go for the 4th, too.
The children like the ferry ride!
